Custody in Germany: What rights do I have as a single Mother?

This is not a very simple question. Germany has a lot of laws concerning custody, who takes decisions on behalf of the child, rights of visitation What rights does a father have concerning custody according to German law if he is not married to the mother? Or even during divorce?
